Richard Eugene Phillips Richard Eugene Phillips of Trenton, FL passed away May 13, 2018 at Shands Hospital, University of Florida, Gainesville, FL. He was born April 29, 1945 in Middletown, Ohio, the son of Harry Lewis and Nora Naomi (Utter) Phillips. Richard retired from the Alachua County School Board. He was an active member of William T. Carlton Masonic Lodge #46 and previously Hawthorne Masonic Lodge #103 where he served as Master. He was a member of Union Baptist Church, Newberry, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Leonard and Don Phillips, a son, Jack Leonard Burnett, Jr. He is survived by his wife, Marlene (Coats) Phillips of Trenton, FL, sister, Estella Moore of Middleton, OH; brother, Jim (Marge) Phillips of Dayton, OH, two sisters-in law, Verb of Cincinatti, OH and Jo of Middleton, OH; five sons, Chris (Tendle) Phillips of Hawthorne, Richard (Annmarie) Phillips of Hawthorne, Paul (Sara) Phillips of Jacksonville, Kenneth (Suzanne) Phillips of Trenton, FL and Michael (Glinda) Burnett of Trenton; 21 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Services are under the direction of Hiers-Baxley Funeral Home of Ocala, FL and held at Union Baptist Church, Newberry, FL. Viewing will be at 10:00 am and service at 11:00 am, burial will follow at Union Baptist Cemetery.
