Ted R. Boody

Ted R. Boody of The Villages joined his son and elders on July 14, 2018. Ted was born October 15, 1934 in Marshall Michigan to Dorothy and Lawrence Boody. He was the eldest of 8 children. He married Mary Lord in 1955 in Battle Creek, Michigan. Together they had two daughters and one son. In 1995 he married Joon Shin. Ted worked for a Kawasaki distributor in the 1960s. In 1970s he owned Kawasaki of Lansing, in Lansing, Michigan. He sponsored a motorcycle racing team consisting of his son, Ted, Jr. and others. Ted was also a motorcycle racer in the 1960s-70s. He was the Michigan State Scrambles Champion during this time. He also raced motorcycle road racers at the Daytona International Speedway, Daytona, Florida in the late 1960s. His other endeavors include designing helmets at companies in Idaho and California and owning small businesses in California. At his death, he was the owner of the Canadian Discount RX in Bellevue, Florida. In his later years, Ted learned to play banjo, ukulele, and harmonica. We will miss his kind heart and humor. Ted was preceded in death by his son, Ted, Jr., his parents and his half-brother, Dennis. Survivors include his wife, Joon Shin Boody, daughters Lynda Boody and Vicki Boody Mourer, brothers Jerry and Lawrence Boody, half-brothers Roger, Clifford and Bill Boody and half-sister Robin Boody Moessinger, Grand Children, Alec Boody, Dustin Curtiss, Alyssa Curtiss, Tara Boody Knudsen and Lindsay Hurst, five great-grand children, and Joon’s daughters Theresa and Grace Shin. No services are planned.
