Richard “Dick” Carden, age 76, of The Villages, FL passed away on Sunday, June 16, 2019. He was born in Queens, NY on July 20, 1942. Dick served with the New York City Fire Department for 28 years retiring as Captain. He was a member of St Mark The Evangelist Church, Knights of Columbus and the New York City Fire Dept Club # 343 of The Villages. Dick enjoyed golfing, fishing and travelling. He is survived by his wife Madeline Carden; children Jessica Nicosia (Dave), Heather Mattson (Glenn) and James Carden; siblings James Cardon (Kathy), Marianne Kerno (Rick), Kevin Cardon (Claudia), Joseph Cardon (Cathy) and Patrick Cardon (Peggy); grandchildren Ricky, Brian, CJ, Maddie, Jessie, Cordae and Sean. A visitation will take place at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 1511 Buenos Aires Blvd, The Villages, FL on Thursday, June 20, 2019 from 3-5pm. A Mass of Christian Burial Service will take place at St Mark The Evangelist Church, 7081 SE Highway 42, Summerfield, FL on Friday, June 21, 2019 at 10am. Burial will take place at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Ocala, FL. Memorial contributions may be made to the Melanoma Research Foundation, 1411 K Street, NW Suite 800, Washington, DC 20005.
