Frederick A. Funk

Frederick A. Funk, 74, of The Villages, Florida passed away on Saturday, November 17, 2018 while under the care of hospice. He was born in Millersville, Pennsylvania in 1944. After retiring and closing Funks Farm Market and Garden Center in Millersville, PA he moved to The Villages. Fred was the founder of The Butterfly Club in The Villages and was the developer and designer of The Fred Funk Butterfly Garden in Lady Lake, Florida. He loved playing pickleball, softball, the butterfly garden and living in The Villages. Survivors include his loving wife of 25 years Jacqueline Z. Funk; daughters Katherine Kirk (Jeff) and Kelli Velez (Herlie); stepdaughter Tracie Zaepfel; stepson Patrick Zaepfel (Kathy); five grandchildren and two-step grandchildren; three sisters and two brothers. He is preceded in death by his parents Amos and Esta Funk. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at 11 am, located at The Lady Lake Seventh-day Adventist Church, 231 Lake Griffin Rd, Lady Lake, FL 32159.
