Douglas Sirinek of the Villages,Fl formerly of Wycoff, NJ passed away on Monday, October 19th after a long and valiant battle with cancer. A graduate of Furman University, Doug gave of himself to our country by enlisting in the US Army as a R.O.T.C. Candidate and serving a tour of duty in Vietnam as a second Lieutenant where he was awarded a Bronze Star for bravery in battle. His experience in the service served to springboard a long and successful career as an import/export director of operations for Sharp Electronics headquartered in Mahwah, NJ. Doug is survived by his wife Barbara of 45 years, his brother Alan and his wife Cathy, his brother Kenneth and his Niece and Nephews. Doug spent a lifetime traveling and enjoying life to its fullest. Living in the Villages he was able to fulfill his passion for golf and enjoying the beach and his pool year around. In addition, he never lost sight of his desire to see the NY Jets win another Super Bowl in his lifetime, unfortunately a dream unfulfilled. Visitation will be on Monday, October 26th at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Home, 3975 Wedgewood Lane, the Villages, 352-775-7427.
