Salvatore ""Sal"" Torname

Salvatore (Sal) Torname passed away on July 8,2023 after a lengthy illness. Sal was born in Lawrence, MA to Rose & Michael Torname. He graduated from Lawrence High School, he received a bachelor’s degree at Salem State University and earned a master’s degree at Anna Maria College. Sal worked for Verizon and the Federal Government in Telecommunications. In 1994 he married the love of life Kathleen Nestor D’Allocco. They Made their home in Tewksbury, MA. Sal served on many boards and did volunteer work in the community. Upon moving to The Villages in Florida Sal was a supervisor for the CDD8 and was on the board of directors for POA. Sal was an avid Fox News fan- Many times you would walk into their home and the News would be blasting. He was also an avid college football fan. Sal was very active playing tennis, pickle ball, and golf. Sal received an award from the Villages Executive Golf Trail for getting a hole in one. You would also see Sal biking through the neighborhood. Sal was active in several clubs within the communities in which he lived such as the St. Alfio Italian Club, in Lawrence, MA, the Benvenoto Italian Club, The Villages, FL, and the Drum and Bugle Corp of The Villages, FL where he was a drummer. Sal is survived by his loving wife Kathleen R. Torname of The Villages Florida- His two daughters Karen Obst and her husband Christopher Of Tewksbury, MA. Susan Curtis and her husband Paul Reynolds of Haverhill, MA. His brother Joseph and wife Alice Torname of Andover, MA He leaves his beloved grandchildren Sarah, Kaitlin, Steven, & Kyle along with several cousins, nieces, and nephews. Visitation hours will be from 2-4 on August 4, 2023, at the Heirs-Baxley funeral home located at 3975 Wedgewood Lane the Villages Refreshments will be served. In lieu of flowers donations to St Jude’s.
