Samantha Ann Caughey

Samantha Ann Caughey, 49, passed on from this life on Wednesday, December 7, 2022, at her home in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She made her debut in this world on Friday, January 12, 1973, in Passiac, New Jersey to Kenneth A. Caughey and Maria I. (Markowski) Johnson. Samantha attended high school at Dell Rapids High in South Dakota and graduated in 1991. Samantha loved baseball, listening to music from the 1980's and 1990's, and reading books by James Patterson and John Grisham. She loved all animals and even contributed to the ASPCA and WWF. Samantha was very compassionate when it came to anything she loved and believed in. She was very present and a shining light to the lives of her parents, brother, extended family, and friends. She will be greatly missed. She is preceded in death by her father, Ken Caughey; her brother, Jahn Johnson; her maternal grandparents, John and Irene Markowski; her paternal grandparents, Gen and Ed Caughey; her uncles, Bobby Caughey, and Rich Marowski; and her aunt Dee. Those left to cherish her love and memories include her mother and stepfather, Maya and Jan Johnson; her brothers, Tony and Danny; her aunt, Dolores; and numerous cousins, extended family, and friends. A viewing was held for family and friends, there are no services at this time. Samantha's care was entrusted to The Springs Funeral Services.
