William Donald Frietsche, 96, of Colorado Springs, Colorado passed away on September 30, 2022 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was born on June 16, 1926 to William and Evelyn Frietsche in Ozone Park, New York. William went to high school at Sewanhaka High School and graduated in 1944. William attended the University of Delaware for one semester, and then decided to enlist in the United States Army. He served in the European Theatre of WWII. Following his honorable discharge in 1946, he worked as a long distance technician for American Telephone and Telegraph for thirty-five years. William married in 1951, to Florence Brooks. He retired from AT&T in 1984 and moved to central Florida with Florence. William and Florence moved to Wake Forest, North Carolina in 2002. In 2011, Florence died from cancer, and in 2013, William moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado. He is preceded in death by his wife, Florence; his parents; his sister, Frances; and brother, Robert. He is survived by his sister-in-law, Phyllis (Gabor) Nadasty of Saint James, New York; children, William (Patricia)Frietsche of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Susan (Chris Biancheria) Frietsche of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Thomas (Carrie) Frietsche of Arvada, Colorado; grandchildren, Kate (Jerry) Reid of Zebulon, North Carolina, Lisa (Nathan) Stump of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Mary Jane (Matthew) Little of Paris, Kentucky, Joseph (Jac) OKeefe of Austin, Texas, and Stephen (Sam) OKeefe of Westminster, Colorado; nephews, John (Carolyn) Skowron of Raleigh, North Carolina, Robert (Rebecca) Skowron of Chesterfield, Virginia, and Scott Newman of Nesconset, New York; and great-grandchildren, Rusty Reid, Rayce Reid, and Ryder Reid of Zebulon, North Carolina, Chloe Stump, Emily Stump, and Lily Stump of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Lauralee Little of Paris, Kentucky.
