Benedict "Benito" "Sam" David Barella, 77, passed away on September 13, 2022 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was born April 28, 1945 in Pueblo, Colorado to Benedict "Bennie" David Barela and Ophelia (Martinez) Barela. Benito was a food service worker. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bennie and Ophelia; his two brothers, Gasper and Stephen Barela; and by his sister, Betty Medina. Benito is survived by his loving wife, Ventura Sherry Barela; his brother, Fred (Joan) Barela; his son, Danny Boy Barella; his sisters, Tina (Joe) Saliba, Eileen (Danny) Baracz, and Jean Quintana; his daughter, Serena (Juan) Salazar; and his grandchildren, Suni Salazar, Fred Barela, Divine Barela, Sam Barela, Maggie Barela, Daniel Barela, Damien Phillips, and Sammy Phillips.
