Donald Eugene Archer
August 3rd, 1940 - July 23rd, 2022
Donald Eugene Archer, 81, of Monument, Colorado, passed away unexpectedly on July 23, 2022. He was born on August3, 1940 to Elmo and Lola (Wallace) Archer. Don had recently retired after a meritorious thirty years with Regis University as the Associate Dean and professor of Anderson College of Business and Computing in 2020. Prior to this; he was employed with US West/Bell Laboratories for twenty-seven years while obtaining his Bachelor's and Master's degrees all while raising his family. He was awarded honorary membership of the Alpha Sigma Nu Jesuit Honor Society in 2013.Don served honorably in the United States Navy in the 60's keeping 62 Naval jets in the air as an Naval Aviation Electrician in Meridian, Mississippi.He worked hard all of his life to provide security and comfort to his family. Don strove to enjoy every moment life had to offer through his passion of hunting, fishing, family camping and boating trips. He spent his last month doing what he loved best; fishing, adventuring and connecting with his family.Don is preceded in death by his parents, Elmo and Lola (Wallace) Archer; sisters, Carol, Doris, Dody, and Violet; brother, Norman; sister-in-law, Donna Abraham; mother-in-law, and father-in-law, Marian and DeLoye Abraham; and grandchildren, Matthew and Kayla (Heather). He is survived by his loving wife, Karen Archer of fifty-four years; daughter, Dawn Archer and her partner, Jennifer Scullion; daughter, Heather Hurst and her husband, William Hurst; grandchildren, Brennan Wagner, Kacie Wagner, Tyler Werre, and Rylee Werre; sister-in-law, Beverly Archer; brother-in-law, Larry Abraham; and many nieces and nephews.
