LaRetta Reynolds 89, passed away peacefully on March 28, 2022, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She was born in Oxford, Nebraska on December 15, 1932. She moved with her parents throughout Colorado stopping at Julesburg, and Pagosa Springs, and finally landing in Cheyenne Wells, Colorado as her parents pursued their calling as the Owner and Editor for the Cheyenne Wells Record newspaper. LaRetta had dreams of a college education, and after graduating from Cheyenne County High School in 1950, she enlisted in the United States Marine Corp, attained the rank of 2nd Lieutenant, and was honorably discharged from service in 1954. She used the GI bill and achieved a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History from the University of Colorado Boulder. She bought a house and made Northglenn, Colorado her home. While working for Western Union, she met Gene Reynolds, and they married in 1966. She had a fulfilling career as a copy editor at the Denver Post newspaper until her much deserved retirement. Northglenn, Colorado, was her home until 2017, when her health required her to live near her niece and nephew-in-law, Rose and George Sturdevant in Colorado Springs. LaRetta loved to read, rarely watched television programming, and loved to travel. She was very fond of her nieces and nephews and enjoyed in their successes as their parents wrote of how proud they were of them. She always sent floral arrangements to her siblings' families at Christmas and each one looked forward to them adorning the dinner table. She was a social person and had a beautiful smile. She loved attending and helped plan her high school class reunions for several years, it was a party atmosphere, and they all had a great time getting together. LaRetta spent the last four years living at Brookdale Briargate assisted living in Colorado Springs. She was active in and enjoyed all the activities with the other residents, especially the "Out to Lunch Bunch", she loved and appreciated living at Brookdale Briargate with all the care she was given and would frequently say so.She is survived by her brother, Edwin (Wanda) Larmon of Perryton, Texas; and thirteen nieces and nephews in Texas, Colorado, Nebraska, Minnesota, New Mexico, Missouri, and California.
