Myra Jane Kirkelie

Myra Jane (Hardy) Kirkelie, 81, passed at her home on 19 January 2022 surrounded by her Loving and supportive family. Myra was born in Alvin, Illinois to Oney Hardy and Vicia Mae (Wheeler) Hardy.She met and married Dennis K. Kirkelie in 1957 and followed him throughout his career which took them to the Philippines, United Kingdom, Texas, Illinois, Arizona and Colorado Springs, Colorado where they retired from the military and established a homestead for their family.Myra worked many jobs during their military life including Manager of First Federal Savings Bank in Colorado Springs. She is predeceased by her parents, and eight brothers and sisters.She is survived by her best friend and loving husband of 64 years, CMSgt (Ret) Dennis Kirkelie, their daughter Vickie (Michael) Berghino of Green Mountain Falls, Colorado; Steven Kirkelie of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and Douglas (Sandra) Kirkelie of Peyton, Colorado; 2 grandchildren(thru marriage), Jandalynn Stelter, Salt Lake City, Utah; Jestin (Cari) Stelter, and 4 great-grandchildren, Destin, Virginia, Daxtin and Daytin of Lake George, Colorado. as well as many nephews and nieces.Myra Adored her family and her children and believed All children could never have too much LOVE! She delighted in supplying delicious and nutritious snacks of all kinds, as well as school clothes and new winter coats for many. She also gave the most comforting hugs! She had a special way of knowing what you needed long before you did!Myra's Generosity knew no bounds! She had many lifelong friends and was "Mama" to many of our after-school friends and neighbors. Myra especially loved being a "Nana" to many. The light of her life were her four great grandchildren, Destin, Virginia, Daxtin and Daytin. She is Loved and will be greatly missed.
