Howard Gene Katz

Howard Gene Katz, 80 years old of Colorado Springs, Colorado and veteran of the United States Army, passed peacefully in his sleep on November 9, 2021. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, Howard worked at his father's neighborhood grocery store and learned the trade of meat-cutting, which propelled a long and rewarding career as a butcher/meat manager for several supermarkets, both in California and Colorado. Howard was a loving and caring husband of fifty-five years, a loving and supportive father and grandfather, and a dear friend to so many.Howard enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling the US, Canada, and Mexico, taking ski trips to the Colorado mountains, working out at the gym with friends, and occasional trips to Las Vegas. He also learned to fly and loved taking friends and family on many flights in his Cessna 172.Howard is preceded in death by his mother, Helen (Tepper) Katz; his father, Manuel Katz; and his brothers, Steve Katz, and Ron Katz (surviving wife and daughter, Pat and Mandy Katz).
