Andrew David Jones

Andrew David Jones, 46, died September 22, 2021, at home in Colorado Springs, Colorado after a short illness.He was born May 25, 1975, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Linda Haney and the late Thomas Jones.Andrew grew up in Greensburg, Pennsylvania and attended Hempfield High School. He dreamed of seeing the world and enlisted in the United States Air Force. Andrew later became a consultant for a global aerospace and defense company. He lived much of his adult life abroad. Andrew called many countries home even if just for a brief time - Korea, Saudi Arabia, Azores, Guam, Belgium, Germany, and England. He also lived in many US states including Alaska, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Nebraska, Colorado, and Washington DC.While living abroad he was able to travel a great deal and experience many other countries and cultures.Andrew worked as an information technology systems administrator and loved all things "tech." He loved building technology - servers, home automation, and pin ball machines, games, and anything Lego. Also, he could not resist a good conspiracy theory or staying up to date with current events. Andrew remained a lifelong Pittsburgh Penguin fan. Andrew and his wife enjoyed cooking together, building with Lego, playing games, and they shared their home with two kittens.He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Jones; maternal and paternal grandfathers, James Haney, Roy Jones; and grandmother, Eva Josephine Jones.Andrew is survived by his wife, Kari Ann (Hanssen) Jones of Colorado Springs, Colorado; mother, Linda Haney of Olathe, Kansas; and sister, Susan Torrey (Macy) of Dade City, Florida; his grandmother, Clarissa Haney of Oakmont, Pennsylvania; nephews, Chason and Jared Hussey of Zephyrhills, Florida; and uncle, Roy Jones (Patricia) of Export, Pennsylvania. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Carol Hanssen (Pete Ponder) of Monticello, Iowa; sister-in-law, Marcia Hanssen (Brent) Carr; niece, Hailey; and nephew, Rylan, of Ankeny, Iowa.A memorial service for family was held in Colorado Springs.Memorial donations in Andrew's memory may be made to Kitten Academy. https://kitten.academy/donations
