Robert C. Knorr

WINTER HAVEN - Robert C. Knorr, Sr., 91, of Winter Haven died Monday, May 7, 2012, in Winter Haven. Robert was born in Middletown, OH on September 7, 1920 and moved to Florida in 1992. He completed high school at Riverside Military Academy of Hollywood, FL, and Gainesville, GA. He was employed by the fabricating plants of Armco Steel Corp. in Middletown, OH, as a crew leader and turn foreman. He started, organized and attended the annual Fabricating Reunion held in Middletown, OH. Robert served in WWII as a B29 flight engineer in the Army Air Corps. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion and an active member and usher at both St. Mary Catholic Church in Franklin, OH, and St. Ann Catholic Church in Haines City, FL. He was Vice President of the Plantation Landing Homeowner's Association, Vice President of Kissimmee River Park & Marina, and President of Rosebud Park Association of Okeechobee. Robert is survived by his wife Marilyn Knorr; sons Thomas of Neenah, WI, Robert Jr. of Germany, and James of Middletown, OH; stepson Thomas Neil of Dayton, OH; daughter Nancy of Clinton, TN; and numerous grand and great grandchildren. Visitation will be Thursday, May 10th at 10AM at St. Ann Catholic Church in Haines City, FL, with Funeral Mass to follow at 11AM. Interment will follow at Rolling Hills Cemetery.
