Shanon D. Cook

Shanon Cook, 55, of the Orlando area passed away on Thursday, August 9, 2012 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born on August 5, 1957 in Dothan, AL and was awarded Little Miss Peanut in 1965 and Miss World (14 yr. Div.) in 1971. Shanon graduated from Dothan High School and University of Alabama, where she was a cheerleader from 1977-1979. After graduation Shanon was employed in the travel sales industry and lastly working with Hilton Grand Vacation Club in Orlando. She was a great cook who loved to travel and loved her pets, Abrams, Buff and Harley. Shanon will be greatly missed by all who knew her, especially her husband and her children. She is predeceased by her parents, Dr. John Hickman Davis, Jr and Mrs. Daphne Wilkinson-Davis. Shanon is survived by her best friend and husband, of 10 years, Richard Cook of the Orlando area; daughter, Samantha Sullivan (Bill) and their son Logan; son, Shane Crawford (Taylor) all of Orlando, FL; brother, Rhett Davis(Teresa) of Dothan, AL; step mother, Evelyn Davis; mother-in-law, Janet Beers (Gene); uncles, Delane Wilkinson (Joanna), Dudley Wilkinson (Linda); cousin, DeDe Adaire (Doug); brother-in-law, Dale Cook (Pam); sisters -in-law, Sherry Burgio (Frank) , Nancy Jarrell (Jeff), Gail Cook; brother-in-law, Kenny Ingham, and their families; several nieces and nephews and special loved ones. A celebration of Shanon's Life will be held from 4-6 pm Saturday August 25th at Tanglewood clubhouse in Hunters Creek between John Young Parkway and Orange Blossom Trail. In lieu of flowers, Shanon's request is for all donations to go to www.pinkribbonprincess.org. This foundation helps relieve some of the stress and financial burden of cancer patients and their families through this difficult time.
