Mary Margaret Bowers

Mary "Mae"" Margaret (nee Mongan) Bowers (85) of Melbourne, Florida, left this world and those who loved her on Thursday, September 24, 2020. She was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Catherine Mongan (Van Arsdale) and John Mongan. She is predeceased by her beloved husband Robert (Bob), her parents, brothers John Mongan and James (Buddy) Mongan, her sisters Catherine "Dolly" Hale, Margaret "Peg" Knebels Wisler, Josephine "Jo Jo" Pirrone, her sister in law Theresa Mongan and her grandchildren Casey Rebecca Ostaszewski Edwards and Andrew Ostaszewski. She is survived and will be greatly missed by her sisters Gertrude Mongan and Marie Whiteley; her children, Catherine Ostaszewski, Phyllis Marcelli, Margaret Davis and Brian Bowers her 9 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildred as well as her sons-in-law Joseph Ostaszewski and Peter Marcelli. She has many nieces and nephews who called her their favorite Aunt Mae. Mae loved her family and was the keeper of their memories, always willing to do the work to ensure that everyone had a good time. She played bingo and blackjack every chance she had and was the aunt who taught everyone to play cards. She got real joy from entertaining and feeding everyone. Always ready to listen, she loved unconditionally and still told you how she saw things. We will miss her wit, humor and love of family.
