Rose Marie Peters

Rose Marie Peters ne Martinez was born October 18, 1945 to Joe and Carmen Martinez in Trinidad, Colorado. She passed away August 20, 2021 surrounded by her family.Rose grew up in Colorado Springs. She graduated from Palmer High School in 1963 and was an active alumni member. She enjoyed the outdoors and loved going camping, fishing, and hunting with her family. She loved dancing and hanging out with friends at the Fraternal Order of Eagles #143. On nice days she could be found walking her cat, Aspen, in her community, fondly known as, "the village". She was a friend to all the residents of the village and will be deeply missed. She loved tending to her flowers and took great pride in them. Rose was blessed with four sons and five grandchildren.She is preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Carmen Martinez, sister, Dolores Kennis, and husband, Victor Peters.Rose is survived by longtime boyfriend, Brian Burchfield of Chipita Park, Colorado; her sons, Mark (Michelle) Driggers , Will Shelton, Dean Shelton, and Rick (Laurie) Peters; her grandchildren, Deana Medina, Steven Shelton, Brittany Peters, Ashley Shelton, and Austin Shelton; her brother, Freddy Martinez; her sisters, Vangie Ramos and Margaret (David) Tyrol, all of Colorado Springs; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
