Nancy Irlene Smith, of Tavares, FL, passed away on December 21st at Avante At Mount Dora. Cause of death was due to heart failure. She was 66. Nancy was born in Tampa, FL on February 8th, 1947. She graduated from Auburndale High School and continued on to receive a degree in nursing. Nancy was a retired nurse who worked as Director of Nursing for Lake Eustis Care Center as well as many other facilities. She was dedicated to her career as a registered nurse and she brought care and comfort to a great many people. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, listening to her granddaughter's music, and petting her beloved cats. Nancy is survived by her son, Gregory Smith of Mount Dora; her granddaughter, Alana Smith of Mount Dora; her brother, Robert Wagner of Fort Myers, and other family and friends. Nancy is preceded in death by her parents, Robert George Wagner and Bessie Mae Wagner. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, December 28th at Oak Ridge Funeral Home, 2425 W. Havendale Blvd, Winter Haven, FL. Visitation will begin at noon. Burial will follow the funeral at Auburndale Memorial Park.
