June 19th, 1931 - April 20th, 2014
STEELE, JAMES M. of Haines City, passed away Sunday, April 20, 2014 at Brandywine Health Care Center at the age of 82. James was the son of James and Sarah (Cobb) Steele born June 19, 1931 in Corbin, KY. Mr. Steele is survived by his loving wife, Marlene of 56 years; Three daughters, Sherry Steele Scheffler (Bruce) of Merritt Island, Mary (Carl) Ohlemacher of Dundee, Ellen (Robert) Brockway of Monroe MI; Sons, Paul of Dallas, TX, Allen (Laurie) of Jackson, MI, David (AnnaMarie) of Newport, MI; Sister, Katherine Stewart of Albuquerque, NM; nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. James was preceded in death by his parents; and grandson Joshua Steele. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict where he was wounded. James retired in 1987 from Monsanto Chemical Company of Trenton MI. He enjoyed boating, traveling, and being outdoors. James was a wonderful husband, father, and friend to many, one who loved to work with his hands, who will be sadly missed to all who knew him. According to his wishes cremation has taken place. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. The family would like to give a big thank you to Brandywine Health Care Center and their staff for the wonderful care they gave James.
