January 18th, 1926 - July 5th, 2015
Arthur Albert Maynard, Jr., 89 of Lake Alfred, FL passed away on Sunday, July 5, 2015 at his residence. Born January 18, 1926 in New Bedford, MA he moved here 30 years ago from Indiana. He was of the Catholic Faith, and a WWII Veteran of the US Navy and was awarded the Bronze Star. He was a wonderful dad who lived life to the fullest. He lived is as though he was still 20 years old. He was a master furniture builder, did home remodels, had his own hairdressing business and had worked as an armed guard on Wall Street. He was an avid boater, unbelievable artist and kept in daily communication with his sister whom he loved most in life. He is survived by: 2 sons, Douglas Jens Maynard and Erik Jacob Maynard; his grandkids, Craig, Byron, Stacey, Luke and Leigha; his great grandkids, Dustin, Terry, Mason, Elizabeth and Kate; 2 sisters, Eileen Benham and Caroline Halliwell; and 8 nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held at 12:30pm, Sunday, July 12, 2015 at the Westwood Missionary Baptist Church in Winter Haven. Condolences may be sent at www.oakridgefuneralcare.com
