Mary Ermalinda Valdez

Mary Ermalinda Valdez, 85, of Trinidad, Colorado passed away March 16, 2021 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.She was born October 27, 1935 to Jose Rosendo and Semonita (Aragon) Chavez in Trinidad, Colorado.Mary earned a Nursing degree from a nursing school in Trinidad, then went on to work as a Licensed Practical Nurse.She enjoyed spending time her family, going to the park, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and baseball.Mary is preceded in death by her husband, James Valdez, Jr.; son, Bruce Valdez, Sr.; her parents, Jose R. and Semonita Chavez; and several siblings.Mary is survived by her daughters, Darlene Valdez, Annette Salazar and Jeanette Ochoa, all of Colorado Springs; fourteen grandchildren; fifty-four great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Lily Valdez of Fort Collins, Colorado, Louise Padia of Penrose, Colorado, Gloria Ortiz of Fort Collins, Helen Pullian of Fort Collins; brothers, Henry Chavez, Sr. of Las Vegas, Nevada, Joe Chavez of Fort Collins; and numerous nieces and nephews.The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Anthony and Leilani Garcia, John and Mellisa Montao, Isaac and Helen Hernandez, James and Anjelica Fernandez, and everyone who generously helped with donations.A private Visitation will be held 10:00AM-1:00PM, private Funeral Service immediately following, 1:00PM, Saturday, March 27, 2021.Attendees will be capped at 75 people and masks/ facial coverings are required.
