Hazel Carswell Ogburn
October 5th, 1918 - January 11th, 2017
Hazel Ogburn, 98, of Lake Alfred, passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2017. Born Oct. 5, 1918 to Cleveland and Mabel Carswell in Holmes County, FL she moved to Lake Alfred in 1942. Hazel was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lake Alfred, where she taught Sunday School for decades. She quit work at 85 years old to care for a great grandson, Nana had a special love for children and they were drawn to her. She is preceded in death by her husband Fred, a son, Scott Ogburn , her parents and several siblings and a son in law, Frank Decker. She is survived by: one sister, Mildred Kimbrell; a son, Ronnie (Donna) Ogburn; daughters, Joyce Decker, Yvonne (Tom) Williams and Marisa (Grady) Judd; a daughter in law, Jeanette Ogburn; 8 grandchildren; and 22 great grandchildren. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:30am, Saturday, January 14, 2017 at the First Baptist Church of Lake Alfred. In lieu of flowers please make memorial donations in her name to the First Baptist Church of Lake Alfred, Children's Programs. Condolences may be sent at www.oakridgefuneralcare.com.
