Kathleen "Kathy" Lyon Bronson

Kathleen "Kathy" L. Bronson, age 78, passed away December 30, 2020, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She was born in Newark, Ohio in 1942 as one of five children to Herman and Kathryn Lyon.A graduate of The Ohio State University, Kathy enjoyed a career as a computer programmer in the early and exciting days of computer technology. She also delighted in her "second career" as an Air Force family member, traveling the country for over twenty years with her daughter, Tonya, and supporting her in her Air Force career.A lifelong learner and avid reader, Kathy pursued a wide variety of interests ranging from mathematics, reading and philology to gardening, architecture and antiquing, as well as space, the study of maps and history and classic movies. Also an artist at heart, she created beauty wherever she went whether it was through interior decorating, creating a lovely tea setting or just singing a beautiful song. Kathy will be remembered as a loving, vibrant and generous woman who always had an encouraging word for family, friends and even strangers. Filled with joy and always ready for a good laugh, Kathy's love for her family was second only to her love for Jesus Christ. Her legacy of living by faith through God's grace will shape her family for generations to come. Kathy is survived by her daughters, Niko Lewis and Tonya Bronson; her son-in-law, Jason Lewis; her grandchildren, Nyah, Zachary, Audrey and Gianna Lewis; her sisters, Alice Mentzer and Louise Lyon; her nieces and nephew, Marykay Mentzer, Barbara Greene, Joseph Robert Weston, and Mardelle Thomas; and numerous other family members.She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Kathryn Lyon; her older sister, Barbara Rizutto; and her younger brother, George Lyon.Funeral Service, 10:00AM, Friday, January 29, 2021, The Springs Funeral Services - North, 6575 Oakwood Boulevard, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80923.
