Gina Tezel Mensay

Gina Mensay, age 51, always a wife, mother and friend, passed away on Thursday, June 4, 2020. Gina Tezel Smith was born on November 4, 1968 in Silver Spring, Maryland to Richard L. Smith and Ruby Marie (Gibson) Smith. After graduating from Cibola High School, she attended the University of New Mexico where she received her BBA.She married Chris Mensay on May 29 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. They recently celebrated their 27th Wedding Anniversary. Gina enjoyed lighthouses, puzzles and her pets. Watching her children thrive and supporting their endeavors on and off the field were some of her greatest memories. She was an avid Walt Disney fan and spent many a vacation with her family at the parks and most recently on a celebratory Disney Cruise. Her work at USA Swimming only enhanced her enthusiasm for Team USA. She was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Ruby "Marie" Smith in 2012.Gina is survived by her loving husband, Chris; her daughter, Erin Mensay; her twins, Daniel and Gracie Mensay; her father, Richard Smith; her older brother, Dale Fee; her older sister, Twyla Sprouse; her younger brothers, Sean Smith and Kevin Smith; and her husband's family in Albuquerque, New Mexico.A private Memorial Service will be held 10:00AM on Wednesday, June 10, 2020.
