Angela Marie Melancon

Angela Melancon, devoted and loving wife and mother, age 58, passed away peacefully at home with her family on May 5, 2020. She was born December 6, 1961 in Amarillo, Texas and graduated from Smyer High School. She married Tom Melancon and together they traveled all over the U.S. during Air Force service while also raising the family. She earned her BA and MBA from Colorado Technical University in Colorado Springs in 2006. Angela's greatest passion in life was children, starting with her own, Nathan and Lydia, and later her granddaughter, Emily. She taught the preschool Sunday school class at every church she attended and was dearly loved by the children. Angela was a talented teacher for adults, teaching several classes over the years at Colorado Christian University and Colorado Technical University. She greatly enjoyed the outdoors: camping, hiking, and climbing with her husband, Tom, their dogs, first Roscoe then Sophie. Her strong, determined personality, genuinely compassionate and joyful attitude, and unshakable loyalty to her family and close friends made her a wonderful and inspiring person who was very loved. Angela is survived by her husband, Tom; their children, Nathan and Lydia; granddaughter, Emily; mother, Patricia Ann Wianecki; father, David Arthur Bowley and her brother, Troy. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.A Private Funeral Service will be held 12:30PM, Wednesday, May 13, 2020. The service will be streamed live.
