Dona Ann Green, age 91 of Canton, Illinois and Haines City, Florida, passed to the loving arms of her Heavenly Father on Friday, January 26, 2018. She was born to the late Harry Luker and Kathlyn Tucker on April 14, 1926. She never had many regrets, but I'm sure the one is leaving behind her loving husband of over 71 years, Robert Green. Her spirit and legacy lives on by her 2 children, 6 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren, and an extended family of friends from every walk of life. Dona Ann was an Active Great Grandmother, Supportive Grandmother, Loving Mother, Adoring Wife, Thoughtful Friend and Amazing Teacher. She was strict, but kind. She was determined, but compassionate. She loved to laugh, devour books, and engage the kids in a good card game. She made memories vacationing on Lower Whitefish Lake in Minnesota, hosting Christmas, exploring Disney with the grandkids, and visiting with neighbors. Her recipes of all day spaghetti, green beans boiled with bacon, and banana peanut butter salad are her culinary legacy along with trips to the Dairy Queen for Dilly Bars. We were blessed to learn many valuable lessons from Dona during her 91 years, among them: Stay Active, even when it seems impossible. Her love of tennis when she was younger, and golf (even when she couldn't see) kept her moving, active, and social until her final days. Stay Humble - declutter every chance you get. Redefining what you find valuable will likely make you happier. Stay Engaged. Be sure to take care of others - it gives a greater meaning and purpose, helping to refocus on the more important things in life. Stay Faithful. Her strong commitment to faith was celebrated as a longtime member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Canton Illinois and St. Ann's Catholic Church in Florida. A limb has fallen from our family tree. I keep hearing a voice that says "Grieve not for me." Remember the best times, the laughter, the song, the good life I lived while I was strong. Continue my heritage, I'm counting on you. Keep smiling, and surely the sun will shine through. My mind is at ease, my soul is at rest. Remembering all, how I truly was blessed. With loving memories, she is survived by her husband Robert Green, daughter Marty and Ron Noel, (Grandkids: Scott and Michelle Noel (Great Grandkids: Emily, Caitlin, and Drew), (Grandkids: Shannon and JJ Bosgraaf (Great Grandkids Case, Dirk, and Reece), (Grandkids: Maegan and Damon Bowman (Great Grandkids Ethan and Grace), and Grandkid: Michael Noel, son Steve and late Debbie Green (Grandkid: Matthew Green and Grandkids: Mindi and John Geyer (Great Grandkid: Abigail). Service will be at 10:30 am, February 8, 2018 at St. Ann Catholic Church, 311 Robinson Dr., Haines city, FL. The family wishes to thank all of those who cared for her. Donations may be made to St Ann Catholic Church, P.O. Box #1285, Haines City, FL 33845. Celebration of Life and Arrangements will be provided by Oak Ridge Funeral Care, Haines, City, FL.
