Charles Robert Hornback

Charles R. Hornback entered into his final rest Good Friday, March 30th, 2018 in Winter Haven, FL. He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, October 26, 1921. He grew up in Williamsburg, Ohio, with his foster parents, Edna and Charlie Carpenter. He married his wife of 69 years, Dorothy, in 1943. For about 20 years he was a power plant foreman. For another 20 years he worked as a foreman in stationary jet engine testing (Pratt and Whitney, West Palm Beach). He was a life-long Methodist, teaching Sunday School for over 65 years. He believed in staying active. He was a gentleman. He is survived by his son, Rev. Dr. Robert Hornback (Joyce), and daughter, Connie Ramos (Dick), both of Winter Haven; two grandsons, Steven Hornback (Kim) of Tallahassee and Michael Hornback (Allison) of Lake Mary; four great grandchildren, Rachel, Brandon, Eliana and Lucy. A service of remembrance will be held at the Beymer Memorial United Methodist Church, Winter Haven, 2:00pm, Thursday, April 5, 2018 with the family receive friends one hour prior to the services. Interment will follow at Rolling Hills Cemetery.
