Fay Edward "Nick" Guernsey of Highland City died Friday, April 20, 2018. He was 95. A native of Oswego, NY, born March 15, 1923, Nick moved here in 1955 from Johnsonville, SC. He was a retired LPN from Winter Haven Hospital, a US Navy veteran during World War II, and he was also a member of the Free Will Baptist Church of Highland City. Nick is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Rosa Guernsey of Highland City, his daughters: Bobbie Smith of Santa Rosa Beach, CA, Frances Workman of Rock Hill, SC, and Gwen Converse of Winter Haven; his sister Beverly Sawyer of Oswego, NY. Nick also leaves behind numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Sunday from 6 to 8 PM at Oak Ridge Funeral Care in Winter Haven. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Monday from the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Lakeside Memorial Park. Condolences to the family can be sent to: www.oakridgefuneralcare.com.
