William B Keen
May 13th, 1937 - June 14th, 2018
William B. Keen was born May 13, 1937 at Tampa General Hospital to William C. Keen and Cecilia Yancey Keen. He passed into the arms of Jesus on June 14, 2018. Bill grew up in Winter Haven and graduated from Winter Haven High School Class of '55 and attended UF. He worked for Ards Awning and General Telephone Co. retiring after 33 years. After moving to Hayesville, NC in 1990 he worked for Clay County Farm Supply and owned Keen Creations. He was a member of I.B.E.W. 824 and Telephone Pioneers of America. After retirement he enjoyed volunteering for Disaster Services Human Resources, American Red Cross and N.O.M.A.D.S. with Methodist Church, volunteering 53 projects totaling 160 weeks in a 10 year period. He was previously a member of Beymer Memorial UMC and presently a member of First United Methodist Church of Auburndale and Oak Forest UMC in Hayesville, NC. He enjoyed singing in choirs, traveling in his RV, hunting and woodworking, volunteering and enjoying nature and his Labrador retrievers. He was predeceased by his parents and brother, Bedford Keen. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Moody Keen; children Vallerie (Jimmie) Reynolds, JoAnn Cobarrubia, Bart (Alice) Keen, Marlene Meeks, Andrea (Jon) Charles, Levic (Danita) Allen, Jahna Allen, Autumn Adams and Braylee Adams. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, Kayla R. Camps. (Brandon) Denise Cobarrubia, Corey Floyd, Jeremy Coronado, Daniel Keen (Sara), Randall Keen (Amber), Cody Meeks, Luke Charles, Jerrod Leinhauser, Juliet Leinhauser, and great grandchildren,Alana Camps, Destanie Cobarrubia, Hector Gomez, Jr., Tatiana Murillo, Cayden Floyd, Chloe Andrews; 2 Great Great Grandchildren: Kingston Cobarrubia and Aaliyah Cobarrubia. . Visitation will be from 10-11 am Wednesday, June 20 followed by services at 11 am at First United Methodist Church, 316 Lake Ariana Blvd. Auburndale. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Nomads Active in Divine Service at www.nomandsumc.org.
