Mrs. Hazel Dawson, 81, of Haines City, FL passed away August 30, 2018 at home with family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Jay and Carlie Alford. Her late husband, of 56 years, Gerald D. Dawson, Sr.. She is survived by her son, Donald Dawson, 3 grandchildren, Brad Dawson, Michelle Chaney and Justin Dawson, brothers, James Alford, Winter Haven, FL, Archie Alford, Longview, TX, Dempsey Alford, Orange Park, FL, numerous great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Mrs. Dawson was born in Sampson, AL and moved to Florida at an early age. She had owned a restaurant "Camp Marie" on Lake Hatchineha and was a photo tech with the Ridge Shopper. She had retired from Winn Dixie where she managed the Deli. She enjoyed the outside and her beautiful yard with flowers and loved to fish. She loved going to Englewood and spending time with the family. We will miss our Dee Dee, but she is with Paw Paw now and happy. Family will receive friends Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at 11 am until the funeral at 12 pm at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, Haines City. Interment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery.
