Bennie James Kempa

Bennie James Kempa, 93, of Winter Haven, FL passed away on Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at his residence. He was born August 28, 1925 in Armstrong Creek, and was a veteran of the US Army serving in WWII. He retired from Hanna Mining Company as Chief Ore Grader and moved to Winter Haven in 1985 from Hibbing, Minnesota. He was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church and was a member of the American Legion Post #8 in Winter Haven. He is preceded in death by his wife Ruth and a son, Brian Kempa. He is survived by his five sons, Don Jim Kempa of Chicago, IL, Barron A Kempa of Tallahassee, FL, Robert Kempa of Minneapolis , MN, Michael Kempa of Cherry, MN, and Scott Kempa of Leesburg, FL; and a daughter, Jeanne Kempa Roberts of Winter Haven; seven grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. A graveside service will be at 11:30am. Friday. March 8, 2019 at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL.
