Robert Bernard Wedig
January 5th, 1935 - March 30th, 2020
Robert Bernard Wedig, Jr. of Winter Haven, Florida passed-away at home on March 30, 2020, at the age of 85. Bob was born on January 5, 1935 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Helen and Robert Wedig. He is survived by his loving family: Mary Margaret, wife of 65 years, of Winter Haven, Florida; Daughter, Diane Tilton and her husband Ron of Haines City Florida; Son, Michael Bernard Wedig and his wife Lori of Morrow, Ohio. Brother, Ray Wedig and wife Roni of Cincinnati, Ohio. Brother-in-law Charles Saalfeld of Florence; Four grandchildren: Robin, Sean, Jacob, Jesse and two great-grandchildren Aiden and Janson. Robert served 8 years in the Army National Guard being discharged in 1958 and retired from Cincinnati Bell Telephone in December 1989 after 36 years. Robert and Mary moved to Winter Haven Florida in 2004 and enjoyed a Carefree retirement life of travel, golf and community. While we mourn his passing, we also celebrate his life and legacy of hard work, creativity and generosity that touched many lives. A private graveside service will be held for family and friends August 1, 2020. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wounded Warriors or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8516 Grave site services for immediate family will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery at 11000 Montgomery Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45249 on August 1, 2020 at 10:30am with a celebration of life for friends and family beginning at noon at the Aberlin Springs community center located at 3470 Snook Rd, Morrow, OH 45152. 8/1/20 We will assemble at the Gate of Heaven Administration Building by 10:15. 11000 Montgomery Road, Cincinnati Ohio, 45249. (513) 489-0300. This will allow for visiting and assembling to be escorted to the grave site by 10:30. Following the service, we will gather at Mike and Lori’s community center located at 3470 Snook Rd, Morrow, OH 45152.
