Robert Vernon Bruner

Robert Vernon Bruner, 80, Winter Haven, FL passed away unexpectedly Friday, March 19, 2021 at Lakeland Regional Health. Born March 29, 1940 in Portland, Oregon he lived in many places over his lifetime finally settling in Winter Haven in 1989. He was a retired Executive for Scotty’s Corporation, a very active member at Center Point Community Church in Winter Haven, served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the American Legion. He is survived by: his wife of 52 years that he loved and treasured, Kathleen; daughter and her adored husband Becky Bruner Lopez (Walter) of Auburn, CA; son Christopher Bruner of Winter Haven, FL; daughter and her beloved husband Kirsten Bruner-Curling (Mike) of Winter Haven, FL; son and his cherished wife Bradlee Bruner (Susie) of Chiefland, FL; his brother Alvin Bruner (LoRay) of Portland, OR; three grandchildren, Blayne, Katelyn and Emily (Dennis) that he loved dearly; three great grandchildren that he adored (Jayden, Genesis and Skye) and numerous cousins he held near and dear to his heart. Affectionately known as Bob, he lived his life hard and fast, never slowing down. He loved traveling, fishing, old cars and spending time with his family. He was an excellent provider and loved mentoring young business owners. Bob was generous, a little hard headed and sometimes stern but always out of love. He was forgiving, gracious and kind. As Bob aged, he never slowed down, never met a stranger and loved to share all his stories, advice and life experiences. He could fix anything, something his kids always admired. Bob found and accepted the Lord into his heart many years ago and grew spiritually with guidance and compassion from his Pastor Duane Hunt. Church was always something he looked forward to as it was also a social event for him. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed. A Celebration of Life will be held at Center Point Community Church in Winter Haven on March 30, 2021, family will begin receiving guests at 3:00 and services at 4:00.
