James "Jimmy" Jones

James “Jimmy” Jones, 64, of Haines City, FL passed away on Monday, March 29, 2021 at AdventHealth Heart of Florida. He was born on April 28, 1956 in Rochester, NY to James Woodson Sr. and Marie Elizabeth Mailo Jones. Jimmy moved to Florida some 10 years ago after retiring as a pastor for Wolf Creek Baptist Church in Williamsburg, KY. Jimmy was of the Southern Baptist faith and had attended NorthRidge Church in Haines City, FL on numerous occasions. He had a passion for fishing and reading. Jimmy enjoyed get togethers and spending time with his loving family, especially his grandchildren. He was a loving husband who always cared for and loved his wife, Susan. He is preceded in death by his parents. Jimmy is survived by his wife, of 45 years, Susan; son, Jason Jones; daughter, Christina Hill; brother, Bob Jones and his wife, Lena of Dry Ridge, KY; sister, Lisa Salem and her husband, Joe of Rochester, NY; sisters-in-law, Debbie Kennedy and her husband, Dan of Haines City, FL and Sharon Guess of Rochester, NY; grandchildren, Devon, Kaycee and Madalynn; and a great grandchild on the way. He will be truly missed by all. A Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 3, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. until the funeral service at 5:00 p.m. all at Oak Ridge Funeral Care in Haines City, FL with Dr. David Myers officiating.
