Adrienne Pope Watkins

Adrienne Pope Watkins, 87, of Winter Haven Florida was called to be with the Lord on May 13, 2021. She was a lifelong resident of Winter Haven, Florida, and a member of Grace Lutheran Church. Adrienne went to Winter Haven High School and later attended Florida State University. Growing up, she was a competitive water skier and worked with her parents, Dick, and Julie Pope of Cypress Gardens. While attending Florida State, she became a member of Tri Delta Sorority. It was not long after that.....she met her future husband, Jack M. Watkins, Sr. And they were married in Winter Haven on December 23, 1952. After being married, she followed her husband, who joined the U.S. Air Force. They spent 4 years in the Air Force...before returning back to Winter Haven to work and raise their family. During their life together...they did many things! Adrienne was a member and also a past President of the Gardenia Garden Club. She worked alongside her husband developing real estate. They worked closely together building Sun Air Country Club and Baytree Golf Course. At Sun Air, Adrienne’s duties including designing and decorating homes at Sun Air. She also had a love for horses ....raising, breeding and competing professionally with Arabian horses. She was very proud of her horses and bred several top 10 National Arabian Horses. Adrienne also had other passions. She loved garage sales and working Estate Sales. She worked many years In Winter Haven, helping Treasure Hunters with their estate sales with the jewelry. While she was having fun, if anyone needed anything...she would find it! She had her own special way of helping people! Adrienne loved her family! In God We Trust! Adrienne was preceded in death by her husband, Jack M, Watkins Sr, her parents, Richard D Pope Sr and Julie D Pope, her brother Richard Downing Pope, Jr, Nephew: Richard Downing Pope lll. Adrienne is survived by her children, Jack M. Watkins, Jr (Jane ), Adrienne “Missie” Snively (Pete). Grandchildren: Taylor Lee Snively, Harvey “Bo” Snively IV, William Watkins Snively, Cole B. Watkins and Conor B. Watkins. Nieces: Julie P Dantzler and Ann Pope. A Celebration of Life will be held 10:00 AM Friday, June 25,2021 at Grace Lutheran Church, 327 Ave C, SE Winter Haven, Florida 33880. Pastor Charles Reich will be officiating the Celebration. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked to make Memorial Donations to Grace Lutheran School, 327 Ave C, SE Winter Haven, Florida 33880 and The Cypress Gardens Water Ski Team, P O Box 2691, Winter Haven, FL 33883
