Grayce Reich
November 28th, 1947 - June 16th, 2021
Grayce Reich, also known by many in her career as Grayce Young was born on November 28, 1947 died on June 16, 2021 at the age 73 years old. Grayce was survived by her children Sara Bumby, Jesse and Brittany-Kara Reich and of course Miss Lily, her grandchildren Calvin (15), Elijah (12), Harlow (12), Nyla (7), Asher (3) and Tinsley (1). She is also survived by her sisters, brothers, a tribe of nieces and nephews, cousins and loved ones. Grayce lived her life to the fullest. I am proud to say our mother always talked about a life of “No Regrets”. She traveled all over the world. She worked in Fashion, Cosmetics, Skin Care, and started a prosperous business in 2002. She ran the New York City Marathon, fly fished in Alaska, traveled all over Europe, road tripped all over the United States, by train, car and no one will forget her on her motorcycle. There are too many amazing moments to list in a paragraph. She was donned many nicknames over the years, Sparkle, Flake, Captain, Sissy, No Rules Nana, Graycee-Lou, Ma, Chester, FiFi and so many more that we would love to have shared with us. Grayce touched many lives. She had friends all over the world, being one of the most vivacious and social people to have ever lived. We always made the joke that “She could make friends even if alone in a closet”. She had a true talent to make anyone feel welcome in her home and the strength to turn friends into family. She was a true artist, drawing, painting, stained glass, gardening, designing, clothing, and of course food, everything she touched she could make it beautiful. In lieu of flowers, we have chosen to honor our Mother’s passion and love of Butterflies and horticulture, for those who wish may make a memorial contribution to the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens, 132 Botanical Gardens Drive, Boothbay, ME 04537. Donation’s made in her name will be going to support the Butterfly House. https://shop.mainegardens.org/MakeDonation.aspx?skuid=1005595 We will be hosting a Virtual Celebration of Life, date and time is yet to be determined. We have created an email [email protected] for family and friends to send their contact information to be notified when final service arrangements are made. We ask if you have photos or a story about our Mother you would like to share, please email it to this address as well.
