Frank Walsdorf

Frank Walsdorf of Haines City, Florida passed away on August 8, 2021. He was 82. He was born on November 22, 1938, in New Orleans, Louisiana to John L. and Lola Betchel Walsdorf and moved with his family to Haines City in 1953. Frank attended Haines City High School, where he played football. He graduated in 1956 and after graduation he attended King College in Bristol, Tennessee for 1 and a half years. Missing home, Frank moved back to Haines City and began working at Walsdorf Sheet Metal and Roofing, Inc. He worked there until his retirement in 2005. In 1960 Frank married Jeannette Bennett Walsdorf and they had 3 daughters, Heidi, Gretchen, and Bridget. Jeannette passed away in 1983 and in 1998 Frank married Ruth Hudson Walsdorf. His passions included boating, fishing, water skiing, woodworking, and spending time with family at their get togethers. He became a member of Central Church of Christ on September 22, 1998, and he loved going to Prime Time, sending out cards, his job was putting stamps and stamping the church address on them, and he loved going to the Sunday Dinners. Frank is predeceased by his wife, Jeannette; parents, John and Lola and brother, Roy L. Walsdorf. He is survived by his wife, Ruth Walsdorf; daughters, Heidi Lawhorn, Gretchen Battaglia and her husband, Steve, Bridget Gall and her husband, David; stepdaughter, Serena Dunn and her husband, Mark; nine grandchildren, Brittney Whidden and her husband, Michael, Kelsey Smith and her husband, Kyle, Evan Lawhorn and his wife, Kaylee, Rachel Battaglia, Tommy Battaglia, Emily Gall, John Gall, Alec Dunn, Alexus Dunn and one great grandchild, Conley Lawhorn. A visitation will be Friday, August 13, 2021, from 10 am until the funeral at 11 am at Central Church of Christ, Haines City. Final resting place will be at Forest Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be made in Frank’s name to Central Church of Christ 1232 Robinson Drive Haines City, FL 33844.
