Teresa "Wowe" Darlene "Tete" Fitzgibbons

Teresa Darlene Fitzgibbons, “Wowe” and “Tete” of Lakeland, FL passed away on October 1, 2021, at her residence surrounded by her family. She was 63. She was born on November 17, 1957, in Haines City, Florida and was a lifelong resident of the area. Teresa graduated from Haines City High School, Class of 1976 and was retired from State Farm, where she worked for 36 years in the Winter Haven office. She was a member of Believers’ Fellowship Church in Lakeland, FL where she was very active. When asked about Wowe, her family remembers her as a person who had zeal for life, and an ability to make a treasure out of anything. She was remembered as winning “Best Actress” in a family weekend at a murder mystery outing and for being adventurous. She loved to spending time with her family entertaining and decorating. Teresa was predeceased by her father, Hobert Brewer and first husband, Michael McLendon, she is survived by her husband, of 10 years, Michael J. Fitzgibbons; mother, Mary Brewer of Haines City, FL; son, Robbie Joseph McLendon of Lakeland; granddaughter, Emily Fellows of Lakeland; step children, Matthew Fitzgibbons and Sarah Fitzgibbons, both of Winter Haven, FL; step granddaughter, Maddyson Fitzgibbons of Winter Haven; sisters, Shirley Ann Carver and her husband, Ritchie of Haines City, Debra Kay Sackett and her husband, Douglas of Monticello, FL as well as many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 6, 2021, from 11 am until 12 noon at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, Haines City.
