Clifton "Cliff" E. Norris
June 6th, 1941 - October 2nd, 2021
Clifton (Cliff) Edward Norris, age 80, of Dundee, FL, passed away peacefully on October 2, 2021, after a valiant attempt to recover from an at home accident. His firm belief in the Lord supported him in his struggle and ultimately gave him peace. He was born on June 6, 1941 in Washington, DC to the late Clifton H. Norris and Myrtie (Phillips) Norris. He was also predeceased by two sisters. His paternal twin sister Helen Margaret and Shirley (Norris) Venable. Among those who will continue to cherish his memory are his wife Sandra, of Dundee, FL. His sister Margaret Hylton, of Monroe, NC. His four children Michael J. Norris (Kim) LaVale, MD, Lynn A. Norris (Lashon), Germantown, MD, Sean Norris (Patti) Annapolis, MD and Dana Hunt, LaVale, MD. Eight grandchildren Sierra, Shane, Dajon, Kiley, Darion, Joanna, Madeline, Serenity and seven great-grandchildren. Cliff worked for Bozzuto Homes for many years and in his last role he held the position of construction superintendent. He oversaw the construction of apartments, townhomes and single- family homes throughout Maryland, PA and Virginia. Although he suffered a debilitating arm injury in the early 1970’s, he never let that serve as an excuse or stand in his way of accomplishing whatever he put his mind to. In his early adult life he served in the US Army and was a volunteer firefighter in Prince George's County Maryland. In his retirement, Cliff loved staying busy. He volunteered with the Polk County Sheriff’s office and especially enjoyed restoring the legacy of old furniture. He was infamous for his homemade soups and took pride in making traditional holiday fruitcakes. He whistled while he worked and there was nothing he couldn’t grow, build, make or fix. He had a great sense of humor and always found joy in making others around him laugh, even if it was at his own expense. His wink was his way of laughing at his own joke. His humor, determination and perseverance inspired everyone who knew and loved him. He loved his Lord and enjoyed studying the bible. “Well done my good and faithful servant, (Matthew 25:23). May you rest in God’s heavenly embrace. We love you and miss you, rest in peace. A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date.
