Helen Hendrix, 92, of Davenport, FL passed away on February 11, 2023. She was born on July 7, 1930 in Grubbs, Arkansas to Lester and Rosetta Thompson. Helen moved to Florida in 1966 from Virginia, she was a homemaker and a member of the Shamrock First Baptist Church in Haines City, FL. Helen was a simple woman who loved her family. She was kind and never knew a stranger. She loved to sew and read her Bible, she enjoyed watching western shows like “Gunsmoke”, listening to gospel music, and seeing her family on Facebook. She is preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Roseta; her loving husband, James R. Hendrix; daughter, Marilyn “Kay” McGraw, and her seven siblings. Helen leaves behind to cherish her memory, daughters, Jackie Dunnahoe of Winter Haven, FL, Virginia Selby of Davenport, FL, and Rose Rogers of Davenport, FL; seven grandchildren as well as several great and great-great grandchildren. A visitation will be on Thursday, February 16, 2023 at 2:00 pm followed by a service at 3:00 pm all at Oak Ridge Funeral Care in Haines City, FL. Final resting place will be at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL.
