Darryl Jermaine Campbell
February 15th, 1975 - December 19th, 2019
Darryl Jermaine Campbell, 44, departed his earthly home for his eternal home on December 19, 2019 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was born February 15, 1975 in Brooklyn, New York to James Sylescia Campbell and Veronica Ethelinda (Lovell) Cummings. He was the second of their two children. As a child, Darryl was a bad butt and got a lot of whoopings. He was a social butterfly and the teachers reported that he talked a lot in class; definitely a prankster. Even though he did all of this, he had a heart of gold. He was a true Campbell and proud to be one! He would move mountains to protect his friends and family. He was a fighter. Darryl battled diabetes from a very young age, but he never let it take away from his life.Darryl worked as an underwriter in the insurance industry. Darryl took care of not just his children, but many young people that he encountered throughout his life. He also coached youth football and he made a lasting impact on the boys and their families by being a positive role model. Recently, he worked for Uber, which allowed him to meet new people and share his fun-loving personality. He was many things to many people: a loving son, a protective brother, a caring father, a loving husband, a clever prankster, and a loyal friend. No matter what, family came first. He was well-loved by all who knew him.Darryl is survived by his wife, Christina Campbell; daughter, Aaliyah (Mahkya) Askew; sons, Jalen and Domanick Campbell; step-sons, Nathan Martinez, Romello Webb, Roberto Webb and Roshawn Webb; step-daughter, Ariana Webb; granddaughter, Amira Askew; father, James Campbell; mother, Veronica (Kevin) Cummings; sisters, Nichelle (Jason) Drecketts, Elnora Richardson, and Holly Cummings; brothers, Tristan Johnson and Kevin A.
