Michael Rizzo
January 23rd, 1940 - January 29th, 2024
Michael F. Rizzo, 84, of Auburndale, Florida passed away on Monday, January 29, 2024, after surgery complications. Michael was born January 23, 1940 in Buffalo, New York. After High School, Michael joined the United States Army in 1959 and was honorably discharged in 1962 as a Light Equipment Driver. Following his service in the Army, Michael worked as a Millwright at Dupont. He continued on to work as a Millwright at Bethlehem Steel in Lackawanna until the Bar Mill closed. He followed that up working as a Millwright at American Axle until retirement. After moving to Auburndale, Florida in 2005 Michael worked for and was a member of the Moose Lodge of Winter Haven. He was also a member of the Amvets of Lakeland. We are sure the Tampa Casino will now have an empty spot at the card table for those who might want one Michael is preceded in death by his parents, Nicholas and Agnes (nee O’Gara) Rizzo. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Gail (nee Grant) Rizzo; son, Michael F. Rizzo Jr. (Elizabeth) of Buffalo, New York; Sister, Joann (Joseph) Bellanca of Allentown, New Jersey; Brothers, Thomas (Ally) Rizzo of Buffalo New York and Nicholas (the late Marilyn) Rizzo of Downers Grove, Illinois; Stepson, Richard Talbot of Arcade, New York; many nieces and nephews; additionally, all his cousins and family from the O’Gara Clan. At Michael’s request there will be no funeral or memorial service. In lieu of flowers those desiring may make memorial donations to Good Shepherd Hospice, 450 Arneson Ave, Auburndale, FL. 33823.
