Gordon Gayle Bush

Gordon Bush was born to Lloyd and Norma Bush in April of 1955 in North Dakota.Surrounded by family, he passed away March 31, 2019 at his home in Colorado Springs, Colorado after a courageous battle with cancer. Gordon, the third of four siblings, grew up in both Phoenix, Arizona and Colorado Springs, Colorado, before attending college in Kansas where he met Stephanie, his wife of 42 years. The family relocated to Colorado Springs in the 80's with their son, Zachary, where Gordon lived out the rest of his years. He is survived by his wife, Stephanie; mother, Norma; son, Zachary; brother, Bruce; sisters, Sandy and Jeanne; and granddaughter, Annabelle. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Gordon worked with his hands all his life. He often did individual jobs around town where he was able to enjoy being his own boss. He also worked for Kenny's Drywall and was a subcontractor for Evans Drywall. Up to retirement, he worked as a foreman for Rocky Mountain Interior Construction. After retirement, he volunteered for the code enforcement division of the Colorado Springs Police Department, including supporting firefighting efforts during the Waldo Canyon fire. Gordon was an avid Broncos and Rockies fan, even when they left him disappointed. Each summer he tended his garden, enjoying a fresh ear of corn or a ripe tomato.When his son was growing up, the two of them always looked forward to their next camping trip. He enjoyed fishing at every opportunity, especially with his granddaughter. As a young man, he learned to ride horses. He was later able to pass on his love of horsemanship to his only granddaughter.
