Lois Jean Heassler
December 6th, 1929 - January 22nd, 2019
Lois Jean Heassler, 89, of Colorado Springs (previously of Boulder, Colorado) went to be with her Lord and Savior January 22, 2019 due to complications from a hip fracture.Lois was deeply cherished by her family. She was truly one of the most kind, gentle, nurturing, loving women any of her family have ever met. A truly rare and beautiful woman who loved the Lord Jesus and who lived out love in every way every day. Everything thrived under her care - her home, children, animals, plants and even strangers. She was a listening ear, wise counselor, generous food provider, coffee drinker, lover of dogs, chickens and cows and one who always tried to care for people around her.The daughter of Wayne L. and Mildred (Thompson) Gross, Lois was born December 6, 1929 in Logansport, Indiana, Tippecanoe County where she grew up. Having later lived in Illinois, she returned to Indiana where she attended Purdue University until she met and married her husband Reid Heassler. Lois' primary dream was to have a family. She lived her dream! And after her children were grown, she returned to school and gained skills in administration. She worked at Cornerstone Pediatrics in Louisville, Colorado for over 20 years surrounded by more families, finally retiring at the age of 85. After retiring, she and her husband Reid moved down to Colorado Springs to enjoy more family until her passing.Lois is survived by her loving husband, Reid A. Heassler; her four children and their spouses, Steven and Martha Heassler, Sue H. Clark, Kevin and Rachel Heassler, Michael and Cheryl Enos; her ten grandchildren and spouses, Brian and Katie Clark, Jason and Bethany West, Kathryn and Paige Heassler, Holly and Hudson Heassler, Nathanael, Torie, and Ellie and Ben Enos; her 3.5 great-grandchildren, Oliver, Emi, Millie West and soon to come Baby Clark; and her niece, Di Ann Carpenter.
