Ann Elizabeth Murrell
June 26th, 1939 - August 11th, 2022
Mrs. Ann Elizabeth Murrell, age 83 a resident of Auburndale, Florida passed away Thursday, August 11, 2022 at her home surrounded by family. Mrs. Murrell was born June 26, 1939 in Boston, Massachusetts to James Joseph and Rita Joan (Maloney) Martin, Sr. She was a resident of Auburndale for over 50 years coming from Fort Lauderdale & Leesburg. She graduated from Fort Lauderdale High School, then continued on to Saint Vincent’s Hospital in Jacksonville and then attended Florida Southern University. Ann was a retired Registered Nurse working for the Department of Health for 21 years, Good Shepherd Hospice, Winter Haven Hospital and Polk County General. She enjoyed knitting, scrapbooking and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband in 1998 – Arthur Walter Murrell, Jr. and brother – Edward Joseph Martin, Jr. Ann is survived by, 2 daughters – Lana Marie Hicks of Auburndale, Florida and Margaret Jean Warren of Celebration, Florida; 3 brothers – Michael Joseph Martin and his wife Mary “Melli” of Greer, South Carolina, James Joseph “Jimmy” Martin and his wife Tamie of Chicopee, Massachusetts & Roger Joseph Martin of Ocala, Florida; 2 grandchildren – Joshua Steven Hicks and his wife Samantha of Auburndale, Florida & Taylor Marie Smith and her husband Jesse of Auburndale, Florida; 5 great grandchildren – Braidon, Oliver, Charley, Lilly & James. A memorial service will be held 4:00 pm Friday, August 19th at Steele’s Family Funeral Service, 207 Burns Lane Southeast, Winter Haven.
