Laura Chambers Steen

Laura C. Steen, 41, of Colorado Springs, wife of Lieutenant Colonel John Ervin Steen, II, died Sunday, August 26, 2018 at her home.Born in Lexington, South Carolina, June 27, 1977, she was a daughter of Loretta Boyd and the late William Chambers. She was a 1995 graduate of Fayette County High School in Fayetteville, Georgia, and a 1999 graduate of North Georgia College and State University in Dahlonega, Georgia. She was a member of the Delta Zeta sorority and a sweetheart of the Kappa Sigma fraternity. Laura was a member of Woodmen Valley Chapel, Rockrimmon Campus. She was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ.Surviving in addition to her husband of nineteen years is her mother and step-father, Loretta Boyd and Hugh of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; four children, Hailey Steen, Owen Steen, Molly Steen and Eryn Steen; sister, Jill Lang and husband Cott of Bonners Ferry, Idaho; brother, Bill Chambers and wife Jen of Orlando, Florida; sister-in-law, Brandi Steen Thomas of Greenwood, South Carolina; and several nieces and nephews.Funeral Service, 10:00AM, Friday, August 31, 2018, Woodmen Valley Chapel, Rockrimmon Campus, 290 East Woodmen Road, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80919.
