Ernest Reni Watson, 68, died on May 15, 2018 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.He was born on December 24, 1949 in Newport News, Virginia to Thomas Jefferson and Mable Clarabelle (Bunch) Watson.Ernest had been a Golden Gloves Boxer and played for the Washington Redskins until he was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1968, serving as a Medic during Vietnam. He was a "Jack of all Trades" and an Electrician.He is preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Earl Watson and Larry Watson.Ernest is survived by his wife, Lisa Gilks; six sons, Damian Perkins, Jamahl Watson, Angelo Watson, Jordon Salazar, Julian Salazar-Gilks, and Dorlando Salazar-Gilks; three daughters, Rashad Watson, Tia (Edward Hunter) Watson-Hunter, and Princess Salazar-Gilks; thirteen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; four brothers, Thomas Watson, James Watson, Jerry Watson, and Thomas "Jack" Watson; and his sister, Cynthia "Cookie" Rouse.Visitation, 2:00PM, Monday, May 21, 2018, The Springs Funeral Services-North, 6575 Oakwood Boulevard, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80923.Funeral Service, 3:00PM, Monday, May 21, 2018, The Springs Funeral Services-North.
