Katharine Elaine (DeWeese) Sabec, 75, died on, Tuesday, December 19, 2017 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.She was born on April 19, 1942 in La Junta, Colorado to Delmar and Myrtle (Foster) DeWeese. Katharine attended and graduated from La Junta High School in 1960, and continued on to get her degree in education from Otero Jr. College and UNC Greely. She was a beloved teacher, mother, and friend.Katharine loved to play the piano, organ, sing, and spending time with her children and grandchildren, and had a love for God's many creatures. She is preceded in death by her father, Delmar; mother, Myrtle; half-brother Daryl, and ex-husband, John C. Sabec, Jr.Katharine is survived by daughter, Katharine "Kat" (Thomas) Nicholls; son, John Sabec; granddaughters, Kirby Sandal, Hannah Sabec, Rachel Nicholls; grandsons, Devin Sabec and Tyler Nicholls.
