James "Jay" Raymond Lehman

James "Jay" Raymond Lehman, age 62, of Colorado Springs, passed away peacefully after a short battle with cancer on September 15, 2017.Jay was born on January 3, 1955 in Cheverly, Maryland to David and Betty Lehman. Jay was raised and educated in Greenbelt, Maryland. After graduating in 1973 from Parkdale High and some brief traveling, Jay settled in Colorado Springs in 1979.Jay worked as a commercial painter for many years before starting Lehman Painting and Wood Restoration in 1990, a small company that is still prospering after twenty-seven years due to his very loyal customers. Thank you.Jay's first true love was music; he was a true musician who played guitar, trumpet, and piano.Jay is survived by his mother, Betty Lehman of Eureka, California; his older brother and sister-in-law, David Lehman, Jr. and Kat Lehman; and his loving companion, Melissa. He is preceded in death by his father, David Lehman, Sr.Per Jay's wishes, there will not be a memorial service.
